Read This First: How Our Online Auctions Work

Welcome to Churches Thrift Shop’s Online Auctions! Please read the following rules before bidding. They have been updated on July 27, 2022. Thank you!
  • The items available for bids are listed below. Each item has its own post and comment section.
  • Most posts include several photos arranged in a slideshow format. Please be sure to click the arrow buttons to view each photo, as some may contain important details about the item.
  • If you see an item you would like to bid on, please leave a reply to the item’s post with your real name and the amount you are bidding. All bids should be in whole-dollar amounts. We notify winners by email, so please do not post your phone number or other personal details! Please ensure you have entered your email address correctly and in the appropriate field. It will only be visible to the site admin.
  • As of July 27, 2022, we will no longer be posting a reserve bid. We will only post a starting bid. Any bids lower than the amount of the starting bid will not be considered valid.
  • The exact end date for bids is not preset, but items will usually remain open for bids for approximately two weeks, give or take a day or two. In some cases, if there are no valid bids, we may decide an item should be left open for bids for an additional two-week auction period.
  • As previously stated, after bidding closes we will notify the winner by email. Please be sure to check your email regularly in case we have contacted you.
  • Please note: You must be willing and able to pay for and pick up your item in person within two business days at Churches Thrift Shop in Salmon Arm, BC, Canada. Your ability to pick up within this time frame is a condition of participating in our auctions. If you are unable to, and do not contact the store by telephone to make mutually agreeable alternate arrangements, we reserve the right to offer the item to the next bidder, or, if there are no other bidders, to sell it in the store, re-auction it, or take another action of our choice. This is because we have limited storage space and need to keep things moving to make room for new items. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this.
  • When you arrive at the store and are ready to pick up your item, please go to a cashier and let them know you are there to pick up an Online Auction item.
  • Items are “as is.” No refunds or returns.
  • If you are looking for our Online Art Auctions, they have their own separate page.
  • Troubleshooting note: We know that some individuals have been having trouble posting bids because when they enter their email address in the required field, they are asked to log in. Our website is a WordPress site. If you are asked to log in, that likely means your email address is already associated with a WordPress account. If you know your password, please do log in. If you don’t know your password, please click “Lost your password” and follow the instructions you receive. Please do this even if you do not remember creating a WordPress account. Many other businesses and individuals use WordPress for their websites and it is possible you may have created an account to use or interact with one of them in the past. If you have any further trouble, please feel free to contact us here through our site, or if that is not possible due to your continued technical difficulties, through our Facebook page.
 Thank you, and have fun!

20190125_093802 (1)

On January 25th, Churches Thrift Shop was represented by some of its staff members at WorkBC‘s Job Fair in Salmon Arm. Staff member Loriann Penner said it was a very pleasant and fruitful experience. Comments were received such as, “Oh, you represent the God Store and that’s the busiest store in town!” And, “I love your store! We shop there all the time.”  She and other staff members enjoyed connecting with people in the community and were pleased to receive a good number of resumes and volunteer applications.
