Online Auctions

Read This First: How Our Online Auctions Work

Welcome to Churches Thrift Shop’s Online Auctions! Please read the following rules before bidding. Thank you!
  • The items available for bids are listed below. Each item has its own post and comment section.
  • Most posts include several photos arranged in a slideshow format. Please be sure to click the arrow buttons to view each photo, as some may contain important details about the item.
  • If you see an item you would like to bid on, please leave a reply to the item’s post with your name and the amount of your bid. Note: WordPress may display a username instead of your real name, so we appreciate it when bidders type their real name in the comment text box next to their bid so that our staff can accurately record the bid.
  • All bids should be in whole-dollar amounts.
  • We notify winners by email, so please do not post your phone number or other personal details! Please ensure you have entered your email address correctly and in the appropriate field. It will only be visible to the site admin.
  • Each item’s post will contain a starting bid. Any bids lower than the amount of the starting bid will not be considered valid.
  • Please note that we reserve the right to delete any comment that does not contain a valid bid.
  • The exact end date for bids is not preset, but items will usually remain open for bids for approximately two weeks, give or take a day or two.
  • As previously stated, after bidding closes we will notify the winner by email. Please be sure to check your email regularly, including your Spam folder, in case we have contacted you.
  • Please note: You must be willing and able to pay for and pick up your item in person within two business days at Churches Thrift Shop in Salmon Arm, BC, Canada. If you are unable to, and do not contact the store to make mutually agreeable alternate arrangements, we reserve the right to offer the item to the next bidder, or, if there are no other bidders, to sell it in the store, re-auction it, or take another action of our choice. This is because we have limited storage space and need to keep things moving to make room for new items. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this.
  • When you arrive at the store and are ready to pick up your item, please go to a cashier and let them know you are there to pick up an Online Auction item.
  • Items are “as is.” No refunds or returns. Items are tested to the best of our ability, but even though they are working when we test them, we can’t guarantee the life expectancy of an item, for example electronics, appliances, etc.
  • If you encounter any problems posting bids, please see this troubleshooting post. If the information there doesn’t solve your issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
 Thank you, and have fun!

20190125_093802 (1)

On January 25th, Churches Thrift Shop was represented by some of its staff members at WorkBC‘s Job Fair in Salmon Arm. Staff member Loriann Penner said it was a very pleasant and fruitful experience. Comments were received such as, “Oh, you represent the God Store and that’s the busiest store in town!” And, “I love your store! We shop there all the time.”  She and other staff members enjoyed connecting with people in the community and were pleased to receive a good number of resumes and volunteer applications.

We are delighted that Churches Thrift Shop has been featured on this week’s episode of the locally filmed History TV series Rust Valley Restorers!
Our amazing staff member Janet Meunier was cool as a cucumber as she guided two of the show’s cast members in choosing clothing to wear to a wedding.
The episode’s title is Happy Endings and it will be re-aired a few times over the weekend, so anyone who missed it can still catch it! Please check your local listings.
