Reminder About Donations

donations

Just a reminder: While we are very grateful for the donations we receive and the generosity of our community, we respectfully request that only clean, working, sellable items be donated. I’m sure we’ve all heard the saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Unfortunately, that saying doesn’t ring true here at Churches Thrift Shop. If it’s trash, we can’t sell it. We have no choice but to dispose of it, which adds to our garbage fees, leaving us with less to give back to the community. For more information about donating, please see our Donations page. Thank you!

Please, No Donations When We Are Closed!

Donations left outside fence
We really want everyone to know how VERY much we appreciate donations; we are very grateful for our city’s generosity. Unfortunately, when items get left outside our gates when we are closed, they get rifled through and often it rains or snows and everything gets ruined. 😞 So we would really appreciate if drop offs were only made when we are open so that we can take good care of your donations right away! Thank you.

Churches Thrift Shop Represented at Local Job Fair

On January 25th, Churches Thrift Shop was represented by some of its staff members at WorkBC‘s Job Fair in Salmon Arm. Staff member Loriann Penner said it was a very pleasant and fruitful experience. Comments were received such as, “Oh, you represent the God Store and that’s the busiest store in town!” And, “I love your store! We shop there all the time.”  She and other staff members enjoyed connecting with people in the community and were pleased to receive a good number of resumes and volunteer applications.

We are delighted that Churches Thrift Shop has been featured on this week’s episode of the locally filmed History TV series Rust Valley Restorers!
Our amazing staff member Janet Meunier was cool as a cucumber as she guided two of the show’s cast members in choosing clothing to wear to a wedding.
The episode’s title is Happy Endings and it will be re-aired a few times over the weekend, so anyone who missed it can still catch it! Please check your local listings.
