We Are Not Accepting Headboards, Footboards, or Rails at This Time

It has come to our attention that some people are having trouble posting bids in our Online Auction.
One particular issue that’s causing confusion is that WordPress has been assigning unwanted user names to repeat customers. Churches Thrift Shop has no control over this, and we understand that it can be disconcerting when you see your bid appear under an unfamiliar handle, but it is not a problem. In the system, the user name is connected to your email address. When we’re in admin view, we will be able to see your real email address as the contact information for that bid. Perhaps for clarity for all concerned, you could type your real name into the body of the comment next to your bid. However, it is not a problem if you don’t, as we will go by your email address when determining the winner.
Also, if you post a bid and it does not immediately appear on our site, it is possible the site’s spam filter placed it in a moderating queue and it will need to be manually approved by the site admin the next time they are online. This is likely to happen if there is an email address or link in the body of the comment, as the filter considers that spam. Please ensure that your email address is only in the required field and not in the body of the comment.
If you find that you have other technical difficulties posting a bid, please try updating your browser and/or clearing your cache.
If you still have trouble, don’t worry! You can still bid by messaging us through our site’s Contact Page or our Facebook Page with your name, email address, the name of the item you’d like to bid on, and your bid amount. If for some reason you are unable to send a message, you can call the store at 250-832-8234 during business hours and ask for Bev or Diana and give them the information.
Business hours are:
Monday: 11 am – 5 pm
Tuesday-Friday: 10 am – 5 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 4:30 pm
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will continue to participate in our Online Auctions! Thank you! We appreciate you all!

Dear Valued Donors,
We at Churches Thrift Shop kindly ask that you refrain from donating cell phones or tablets that are locked, as well as TVs without remotes. Unfortunately, we are unable to sell these items and they just end up being recycled. Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Hi everyone! 🙂 We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and contributions to Churches Thrift Shop. Your generosity helps us make a positive impact in our community and allows us to continue providing affordable and sustainable options for everyone.
We kindly request your cooperation in making sure that the items you choose to donate are in a condition that is sellable and can be of value to others. Therefore, we ask that you refrain from donating items that are broken, ripped, or stained. We also request that odd socks are not included in your donations. While we admire the uniqueness of these single socks 😉, we are unable to sell them.
In addition, it’s important to note that recycling can be costly for us, both in terms of time and wages. To make the most of your goodwill and our resources, we encourage you to responsibly handle your recycling needs separately from your donations. This small effort can help us focus our energies on processing sellable items. Specifically, we do not sell old milk containers, sour cream containers, or jars that aren’t suitable for canning (with the exception of gallon-sized jars).
Your understanding and cooperation are invaluable to us as we strive to maintain the quality and purpose of Churches Thrift Shop. We are grateful for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming your donations that align with our guidelines.
Thank you for being a part of our thrift store community and helping us make a difference in the lives of others! ❤️
